The origins of the "Castello Bonaccorsi" (Castle Bonaccorsi) in Castel San Pietro, near Poggio Mirteto, can probably be traced back to before the year 1000, after being mentioned in the "Chronicon Farfense" of the nearby Farfa Abbey.

What is less well-known however, is the architectural history of the castle. In its present form is it difficult to determine the medieval construction phases of the building, due to the complete refurbishment of the castle by Bonaccorsi, into more palatial, rather than military surroundings. In fact all the signs of military defence have vanished, and what remains is elegant architecture surrounding a small courtyard.

The castle was built at the highest point in the village and archaeological excavations have shown that the foundations were built on the remains of an ancient Roman villa.

A combination of high class comforts, including swimming pool and thermal spa, history and now featuring the most innovative horror themed interactive experience, Catle Bonaccorsi provides the perfect location for an alternative weekend get-away.
